A Drum Loop is a two to sixteen
bar phrase of real drums being played by live drummers, usually digitally recorded.
These recordings initially were taken right off of CDs, where the drums were playing
without other instruments. The basic purpose of the drum loop is to introduce
the live sound and real feel of real drums that are usually missing from
drum machines.
Drum Loops are then repeated or looped to create the illusion of a continuous drum track. Because of the repitition drum loops can impart a distinct rhythmic signature in the foundation of a piece of music. That is why more and more musicians are using them to construct the foundations of their compositions.
In order to use the drum loops you must have a CD with license free loops on it, a CD player and a Sampler.
